FAQ
Questions, answered.
The things readers ask most. If yours is not here, write to us.
What is TOM PAPER CO.?
A publishing house with two lights: activity books, warm and unhurried, and fiction, literary and atmospheric, in paper and ebook.
Where can I buy the books?
On Amazon. Each book's page has a Buy button: it takes readers in the UK and Ireland to amazon.co.uk and everyone else to the main Amazon shop. A book that is not out yet says so, and you can ask to be told when it is.
Is it a good gift?
That is how the books are made. The Quiet Garden is a large-print paperback with generous pages, meant to be kept or given, and Amazon can send it straight to the person you are giving it to.
Paper or ebook?
Each book's page says which formats it comes in: paperback, ebook, or both.
What is The Quiet Garden?
Our first book: a large-print word-search paperback of fifty-six puzzles drawn from flowers, herbs and quiet outdoor hours, with enlarged solutions at the back.
When is the first fiction book out?
The first volume from the F. J. Saint imprint is coming in 2027. Join the night list on the F. J. Saint page and you will hear first.
Who is F. J. Saint?
The night imprint of TOM PAPER CO.: psychological horror that lingers after the final page.
Why does the site change between day and night?
The Pastimes pages are always read by day and the Fiction pages always at night, and the site turns the page for you when you arrive. Everywhere else the sun and moon button in the top corner is yours. The first time you visit, the site follows your device and the hour; after that it remembers your choice on this device.
What is Redacted?
A short page of text with some of its words blacked out. You put the words back, one at a time, and read what the page says. There is a new page every day, and a scoreboard if you want to put three initials on it.
Do I need an account to play?
No. There are no accounts. Your record, your best page and your days in a row stay on your device.
What is The Sunday Paper?
A quiet note for the end of the week: one small puzzle, new releases and occasional notes from the TOM PAPER desk. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Can I put the site on my phone?
Yes. Use your browser's Add to Home Screen. It then opens like an app, and the pages you have already opened still open without a connection.
What do you keep about me?
Very little: your email if you join the list, and three initials, a score and a time if you enter the scoreboard. The privacy page has the whole of it.
How do I get in touch?
Write to hello@tompaper.co, for reader questions, wholesale enquiries or a quiet hello.
